Night Fishing with Riversong Fly Fishing Guides, Wanaka
Night fishing is a unique and highly productive method of fly-fishing, but don’t let this fool you into thinking it is an easy method.
Your night fishing experience begins just after sundown, usually with a spectacular sunset. The first two to three hours of your experience will be the most exciting with the river coming alive with feeding trout, both brown and rainbow.
With the cover of darkness some of the largest and strongest trout move to within range of the fly rod to gorge on the plentiful insect life hatching from the rivers edge.
With the assistance of your professional guide you will learn the skill of fly-fishing without the sense of sight. Once you have mastered these skills you will be truly rewarded with some of the biggest battles you have ever experienced when fighting the wild trout. These fish know how to fight back and will treat you to a uniquely wild trout battle.

- $75 per hour/min 2hrs
- Second person $15 per hr
- Total for 2 people $90 per hr
- Max one angler per guide. (This is for the purpose of client safety)
